The town is divided into two parts: the center located in the historic part and the marina where there are shops, schools and services of all kinds.
Basilicata is one of the few Italian regions that has two coasts, one on the Tyrrhenian side and the other on the Ionian Sea. Nova Siri is certainly one of the ideal locations for a holiday dedicated to the sea, history, and good food. Located on the border between Basilicata and Calabria, which also makes it easy to reach the latter region and its localities.
Basilicata, along with a few other regions, still offers a rare opportunity to enjoy a glimpse of authentic Italy. The hilltop villages nearby such as Craco, Pisticci, Tursi show us that in most of the region time has stood still for centuries. The Pollino National Park is an unexpected surprise that is absolutely worth seeing starting a tour from Nova Siri.
Policoro is about 15 minutes from Nova Siri and an hour's drive from Matera and is located on the Gulf of Taranto (Ionian Sea). This small stretch of Lucania is only about 40 km from the border with Puglia and a couple of km south of Calabria. Nova Siri beach is awarded every summer with the Blue Flag.
All of the aforementioned characteristics make a stay in the village ideal not only for a holiday but for the whole year!
